Welcome to Fanciful Allure! I’m Lisa Selfridge, owner of Fanciful Allure website and blog.
I make romance swag, figurines, or totems as I dubbed them, and jewelry, Christmas ornaments and everyday beaded and clay jewelry, totems, and author brand items. Why? One reason is because I am a romance writer–Calisa Rhose–and secondly, because I LOVE working with Premo! polymer clay by Polyform, and bead work!
I discovered this AMAZING medium in the spring of 2014 while on hiatus from writing, and became hooked immediately. Besides being fun, this craft outlet relaxes me and helps me think when I’m stuck on a particular scene or plot. It’s also a great way to interact with my precious granddaughters and come up with gift ideas for friends and family. Polymer Clay is good therapy for the mild arthritis in my hands, as well, though I can’t say it’s good for my neck when I’m involved in a tedious project. 😆 Who knew you could make your own beads?! I can’t think of a better creative hobby that is so instantaneously rewarding.
After almost a year, I thought it would be fun to share my art and some of the things I’ve learned with others. This is a swag, totem and jewelry site to appease my addiction to Polymer clay and bead work. Some of my special creations are displayed in the header, while those and others will be parked on pages within this site.
I will also post some of the tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way and possibly host some of the awesome polymer clay artists to let them share tutorials and projects if they want.
Like most clay artists, I’ve discovered, everything I make is one of a kind in that no two ‘like’ items will turn out the exact same since I hand make each item without molds or formulas usually. Even with molds, it is impossible to get each detail precisely the same on every item. That’s what makes handmade artisan crafts so special and fun.
I invite you to join me as I challenge myself and participate with other artists and crafters in a personal discovery of what I can do with clay and beads, as well as other craft mediums. Feel free to contact me here with comments or ideas, requests for projects or just to say hi.
I will also share some of those challenges on the blog, in case anyone is interested in learning or participating. 😀

I expect to make a dedicated Pinterest page for FA, but I currently have those craft boards on:
